Faith-based organisation Living Word of God International Ministries on Christmas Day splashed assorted gifts to 80 old people in Ndirande, Blantyre, courtesy of Candlex Limited.

Candlex donated laundry soap and skin oil for the aged to celebrate Christmas with their MP Eunice Makangala.

The beneficiaries also received K1 000 each from the MP.

Makangala appealed to members and leaders of the ministry to love one another and demonstrate their love by giving to the poor.

“Christmas is the time for sharing, so let us share whatever God has given us. This is one way of demonstrating that we love one another as God commands us.

“I want to commend Living Word of God International Ministries for this kind gesture. We have over 300 companies, but most of them are stingy. They do not want to pay back to the communities who give them business,” said Makangala.

Director of the organisation Pastor James Genesis said the ministry helps orphans and vulnerable children, widows and the elderly.

“Some of our programmes touch the lives of the less privileged groups such as orphans and the elderly through feeding and clothing as well as spiritual empowerment.

“We also provide teaching and learning materials to school-going children. Besides, we have established youth clubs and adult literacy classes,” said Genesis.

He said the donation was made with support from various stakeholders and partners in the ministry.
